My husband, who has recently had knee surgery, uses this cane outside (on wet and dry surfaces) and inside and is very comfortable with it. It is sturdy, and the offset handle is convenient. It is a heavy cane, but that is part of what makes it sturdy. It is not so heavy as to cause a problem for anyone who is not unusually weak.

very sturdy item, but...
Item is sturdy and does as it is supposed too, but the chuck that keeps the bottom from rattling does not hold well and needs to be heavier. This does not affect function or sturdiness, just a very minor annoyance.
