Ableware Extra Wide Tall-Ette Elevated Toilet Seat w/ Legs - Adds 4"

Extra Wide Tall-Ette Elevated Toilet Seat - 4"

The Ableware Extra Wide Tall-Ette Elevated Toilet Seat features contoured, soft foam arm rests designed to assist the user in sitting down or rising from the seat. The seat locks to standard or elongated toilet bowls with Lok-in-El metal brackets. It is ideal for people who need extra assistance because of significant lower extremity weakness or poor balance. The seat adds 4" (10 cm) to the bowl height. Overall width is 22 1/2" (57 cm) - Inside arm width 19" and 8" high above seat. This elevated toilet seat will fit 15" tall toilets only. Will not fit on ADA tall toilets as the legs will not touch the ground.

Two Styles Available:

  • Aluminum Legs:
    • Weight capacity: 350 lbs.
    • Shipping weight: 9 lb. (4.1 kg)
    • Legs are height-adjustable
    • Overall height: 26-1/2"
  • Steel Legs:
    • Weight capacity: 600 lbs.
    • Shipping weight: 10 lb. (4.1 kg)
    • Legs are height-adjustable
    • Overall height: 26-1/2"

Standard toilet seats come with a Slip-In Lok-In-El® Bracket that provides a fast, convenient and safe way to secure the seat. Elongated toilet seats come with the Lok-In-El® bolt-down bracket that holds the elevated seat securely on elongated toilet bowls: full inner ring contact with the bowl is not required.

The alum leg unit does not fit elongated toilet securely with the flat bar "lok-in-el" bracket. Will be contacting Maddak to see if fix is available.

Cons:
NOT STABLE. Moves alot.
Best Uses:

I thought this would be more stable however it doesn't fit snugly and moves around to much. Wish it was more secure. Makes me feel somewhat nervous.

Great Product Verified Purchaser

Pros:
Effective. Good Value. Easy To Use.
Best Uses:
Daily Use. Men.
Describe Yourself:
Quality Oriented.

A member of the family had to have a total hip-replacement, and needed something secure and stable to use in the bathroom. This product fits the bill to a T. With the 4 legs going all the way to the floor, and the hand rails at the right level, it is the perfect product.

Not wide enough... Verified Purchaser

Cons:
Not usable.
Describe Yourself:
Caregiver.

My brother is unsteady on his feet and needs assistance rising from a sitting position. The arm rests proved to be helpful, but he had to squeeze himself between them and found the chair too uncomfortable to use. He weighs about 275 pounds so he was under the maximum 350 pound limit. I think it would have been a great product had it been wider but as it is, it is certainly not made for a large person.

Answer:
Don't know about the Kohler fit.Our toilet is a Mansfield. The plastic tongue of the unit we purchased was too wide to fit between the hinges of our toilet seat. I trimmed about 1/4 inch off each side of the tongue to make it fit. We are pleased with the unit. It ain't perfect but it works fine.
