Product Overview

Mabis DMI Bamboo Bath Seat and Shower Chair

Bamboo Bath Seat and Shower Chair

Allegro Medical presents the Bamboo Bath Seat and Shower Chair. If you’re looking for a bath or shower chair that not only gives you a place to sit, but looks good as well, the Duro-Med Bamboo Bath Seat Shower Chair is the answer. Made from attractive bamboo wood, this bath seat’s triangular shape fits nicely in the corner of most bathrooms or shower stalls. The smooth bamboo wood seat is vented to help prevent soap and water build-up which makes it easy to clean. You can also adjust the height from 13.5 to 18.5 in one-inch increments.

Bamboo: a Renewable Resource
The seat is constructed of solid bamboo, a 100% renewable resource. Bamboo grows one third faster than the fastest growing tree. Unlike trees, bamboo does not need to be replanted after each harvest. It will continue to send up new shoots after being cut. Bamboo is naturally resistant to mold and mildew. The Bamboo Bath Seat is constructed of laminated Moso bamboo. In addition to being one of the lowest environmental impact materials available, bamboo is a beautiful-looking natural material.

Easy to Assemble – no Tools Required
Place the bamboo seat upside down on a flat surface. Place the legs on the seat facing up and align the holes on the seat with the holes on the legs. Use the thumb screws and washer to secure the legs to the seat. Insert the extension legs into the support legs. Adjust legs in one-inch increments to desired height and lock the pins in place. Seat is ready to use!

Fits perfectly in the corner of our shower really space saving. The bamboo is very attractive. Only shortcoming is legs do not extend high enough for serious orthopedic problems.

Dangerous Product Verified Purchaser

Cons:
Unsafe. Faulty construction.
Best Uses:
No one should use this.
Describe Yourself:
Midrange Shopper.

The first chair that we tried had one thumb screw hole that was stripped. It also had one leg with the adjustment tabs that would not hold. If I sat on that chair I would have fallen. We sent that chair back [...] The second chair has the middle (main) thumb screw that is stripped but the legs are adjustable. This product is dangerous.

I thought this was a great product at 1st because of the triangular shape. It fit into the corner of my shower perfectly. The 1st problem was I could never get it stable.Single stall shower and 1 leg sat right at the drain(which is slightly sunken or lower than the tile) so the seat was unstable. It was not very comfortable to sit on due to the wood edge in the front and the spaces between the sections of wood. Made marks on the behind area and was difficult to sit on for as long as needed to shave. MAIN PROBLEM with this product was that the wood weakened and broke in less than 1 year. Plenty of room left on the weight limit so that was not the problem but it broke (front/largest slat) right at the rail (the inside not on the outer part of the rail, that still sits pretty! Snapped completly at once while sitting on it. No warning, no previous crack...not a nice experience..I was scratched all down my bottom and up my back where I fell and it scraped me as I slid down. I was using it due to disability and mobility problems so I had to have help getting out of the shower and was actually bleeding from some of the scrapes! Again, I have more than 100 lbs left before reaching the weight limit so that was NOT the problem. If you are willing to replace frequently before you fall into this situation and the corner unit is that important to you then buy it. I have not been able to find another corner unit.

This is in a shower stall for my husband who has had a stroke. Fits great and is very sturdy. This is our second one, the first chair was this model in teak and lasted about 2 years.
