I would like to be able to remove the bucket without the patient getting up. The footrest is forward and makes it difficult to get him back in the seat. Brakes work well but I have trouble applying them.

Hard Plastic Seat!

Midrange Shopper.
I can't say much about this specific shower chair as I didn't even put it together. My attendant sat on the seat and said it was very hard. I need a soft seat which was not obvious from the description or picture. As I said I had very similar chairs in the past (with a softer seat) and my experience was they worked okay for me. But there are a couple of problems with the wheels. The first problem is the wheels do lock but as the chair is so light weight that it tends to glide over surfaces. It doesn't stay in place. The second problem is after a couple months the wheels start to rust and they do not roll. When this happens if you have someone use WD-40 on them they will eased up and they are good for a couple more months. It doesn't matter how expensive a shower chair is, on all of them the wheels rust. I bought a [$] shower chair and the wheels still rusted.
