Anxiety: The world we live in is so fast paced that it's no surprise that we all suffer from anxiety. We worry over work, school, money, and family issues. Studies have proven that people who exercise are 25 percent less likely to develop anxiety than people who don’t 2. Psychologists suggest that a 10 minute walk may be just as good as a 45 minute workout. They have seen that exercise may improve mental health by helping the brain cope better with stress 2. Insufficient sleep is linked to a variety of health problems that can be fought off with exercise. Push back on that weight gain, fatigue, heart disease, and stress. Asthma: Exercise isn't something that will eliminate asthma but it’s been proven to dramatically reduce its effect. A recent study by the National Institutes of Health have shown that after 12 weeks of 3 day week exercises, adults have improved asthma control and fitness levels without provoking an asthma attack. This same study showed that adults who started into a swimming program have shown an increased lung capacity and decreased asthma related symptoms 5. So which ever method of exercise you chose will help give you relief from your asthma.
