Turkey or Ham – You Tell Me

We’re a turkey house on both Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Sure, I enjoy a little ham on the side, but I certainly wouldn’t serve JUST ham.  Growing up in Nebraska, however, I saw a lot of beef for Christmas dinner.  Who doesn’t love a nice prime rib at your holiday feast?  Me, that’s who.  I will probably be cast out of my family of cattle ranchers for saying so, but seriously… folks… give me the bird for Christmas.  But don’t try to goose me!

What about you?  Fowl, Swine or Bovine? Tofurky?

State your case in the “reply” section below.  Thanks!

I need to mix it up. Ham it up with me for X-Mas to spread the tidings and joy. Extra points for honey glazing and cheese sauce to go with. But does anybody actually go out, get and prepare their own pork leg from scratch anymore?

Being a part of a huge family where 80 of us show up at grandma and grandpa’s house, we have both Turkey and Ham. Every once in a while, an uncle will even cook up some venison. The venison is great and does not taste gamey if you cook it overnight in Coca Cola. Makes it extremely tender!

I love the Turkey while watching all the Football games.

My wife always votes ham and I always vote for turkey. So we always end up with ham. Tradition always includes tamales.
