Easy to put on and take off, the Dale Foley Catheter Holder features a dual patented locking device that securely anchors the catheter in place. It helps minimize patient tampering, facilitates catheter traction, encourages mobility, and can be moved from leg to leg with total ease.
The legband is comfortable, too, thanks to a unique stretch material that distributes compression evenly around the thigh to avoid a tourniquet effect. A Velcro fastener engages the band at any point for a custom fit.

My husband has a urinary catheter inserted through his abdomen directly into his bladder. He does not use a bag but a plug in the catheter which he empties when he urinates. He has worked to be able to use his penis to urinate too. So, the foley catheter holder works for him. He really likes it. I purchased several as there are times when it gets wet and I have to wash it. He then uses the spare. He does use a bag at night by just removing the plug in the catheter and hooking up the night bag.

My 82-year old mother must have a catheter due to damage from a stroke. The adhesive-type catheter holders were damaging her fragile skin. A friend told us about this 'garter' style holder and it has been a lifesaver.
The velcro does wear out kinda quickly, considering it is not constantly opened and closed. Hint: to make these last longer, wash them with the velcro adhered in a bra bag. This will keep them from getting caught in other laundry and being stretched out or the velcro damaging other garments.

Yes, this catheter holder can be used be either sex. I recommend purchasing a few of them, as they need to be changed every few days for sanitary reasons. I also recommend hand washing/drying as they contain velcro. This is a great product, much better than the adhesive-based holders. And,Medicare does pay for these with a doctor's order.

Yes, this works for either sex and all sizes of thighs (heavy-set to skinny). I use this for my mother and my fried (who told me about this product) uses it for their father.
