Good Value

I am a Retired male RN: My wife is also a nurse. My wife inserted the first one in me and then I did a self cath that evening. We both feel the same about this product. She described very little resistance, and passage past the prostate was uneventful. She was pleased with ease of insertion. Also when I did a self cath with this I also noticed ease of insertion and passage past the prostate. The product seem to empty well, although I would prefer it to be a little more quickly. But then again, this was a size 14. I have no problem with the placement of the drainage holes [a little far apart] as we always insert a little past what is needed. The holes are also somewhat small but small drainage holes tend to be less irritating anyway so if it takes a minute longer to drain and the trade off is less irritation then it is a no brainier. and the price is good.

Good product. Packaging Ludicrous.

Pros:
Safe.
Best Uses:
Elderly.
Describe Yourself:
Elderly. Athletic.

Packaging of basic product is a box of appropriate size. Packaging of product box for mailing is four to five times bigger than it should be, with loads of wasteful padding.

Answer:
Get your physician to PRESCRIBE the use of a catheter and then he can connect you with the vendor of your choice. His or her office will have your insurance information which they will need to share and they will already know, usually, who does and does not accept medicare. Or they can inquire and steer you toward someone who does, if your first choice does not. WARNING: Investigate your options. ALLEGRO was hundreds of dollars cheaper than who my doctor 1st sent me to, even when I bought them directly and not through the company that wanted to start me out at $1500 out of pocket.
