I use these to create a sterile environment when I self cath. The quantity of Povidone Iodine in these packets is too much to use with the size of the included pads. Makes for a real mess. Others may find this as a plus.

Hoping for better results

I started using this for CIC since I have seen it used in hospitals and at the urologist. So far it has worked better than the other antiseptic wipes that I have tried. As the other reviewer commented though, they do stain and splash when you open them, so I make a point of holding the packet far away from my clothes and opening it carefully. I'm hopeful because Wikipedia indicates that povidone-iodine is good for fighting both bacteria AND yeast. However, I haven't used it long-term yet, so I may provide an updated review on my next order.

Spinal cord injury.
I probably bought the wrong product. I tried them for cleansing purposes before intermittent catheterization. They are too small for someone with limited hand control to use. When the package is opened, iodine splatters everywhere. They are messy. They do seem to cleanse well.
