Loops and Other Groups-Mary D. Benbow - A kinesthetic writing system to help children use movement patterns to learn cursive writing - an imaginative approach that makes learning fun. Letters are taught in groups that share common movement patterns. Easy-to-remember motor and memory cues help children visualize and verbalize while experiencing the "feel" of the letter. Most students can learn formations of all lowercase letters in just six weeks. The groups include: Clock Climbers (a, d, g, q, c), Kite Strings (i, u, w, t, j, p, r, s, o), Loop Group (h, k, b, f, l, e), and Hills and Valleys (n, m, v, y, x, z).

After lowercase letters are mastered, capital letters are introduced with new groups. Reproducible practice sheets are included for two levels of learning: Level 1 helps children learn handwriting and Level 2 helps children review lowercase letters and practice writing capital letters.
