very heavy and the handles unscrew Verified Purchaser

Pros:
Supports Weight.
Cons:
Hand grips screw on. Poorly Constructed. Heavy.
Best Uses:
Long Distances.

This is the 1st pair of crutches which have the hand grips which screw on. As I use them, the weight on the grips makes them go up and down, forcing the screws to loosen. I have had strong people tighten them for me and they still loosen after 1/2 a day or so.

Great concept, but too heavy and noisy Verified Purchaser

I'm a long-term crutch user, and I've been using the spring-assist Millenial crutches for 2 weeks. The shock-absorbing springs are a great idea, but the crutches are pretty heavy compared to non-spring crutches. They are also very LOUD!!! My husband says I sound like Robocop when I'm walking down the hall! :) The ergonomic hand grips are great! However, the overall weight of the crutches makes my arms tired, so I only use the crutches periodically for short distances. I think these are a great concept, but they need some tweaking to make them lightweight and less noisy.

I had ankle surgery 8 days ago, and have never before in my life used crutches. I was about to get the standard aluminum type from the local drugstore, but thought I'd look for something else on the web (I had no idea there were so many various mobility aids). Eventually I saw a discussion of forearm crutches on a message board, and ultimately I decided that was for me so there would not be the underarm pain or nerve damage. Before I get to the product, let me say that Allegro Medical is great. [...] the first day I was very wobbly, which I now realize was from the medications. The Millennial Crutches (tall/blue) are sturdy and the handgrip is very well designed. I have not gone a long distance, because crutches are exhausting for a beginner like me, so I cannot speak to that, but going around the house and to the doc's office, I find no added strain on my upper body. If there are any negatives, they are relatively minor. The spring assist does make them noisier than normal crutches (like a lightweight RoboCop)...and when I wear sleeves, my arms have a tendency to occasionally pop out of the cuff, so I got some Velcro straps from a bike shop to help with that. All in all I am very pleased with my purchase, and with Allegro Medical.

Mixed feelings - feels like slipping Verified Purchaser

Cons:
Feels like he's falling. Feels less sturdy. Hard To Use. Get right and left mixed.
Best Uses:
Long Distances. Wet Weather. Outdoors. In crowded rooms. Short Distances. Indoors.
Describe Yourself:
Long Term User.

I ordered for brother who couldn't make choice himself, and while it sounded good - he felt like he was falling - and since he can't get up when he falls - that gave him fear he hadn't had before. Also - he's a large man, and the plastic arm bands pinch his hairy arms. He says it is better if he keeps long sleeves on - but that it isn't as good as what he had previously (and lost one of.) He said they also don't feel as substantial and wonders how they will hold up. One size arm band does NOT fit all comfortably - and he has to be more careful to have the right one on the right side, left on the left side, where previous ones were interchangeable.

I have used numerous mobility assistance devices over the past six months, and since I still lack a diagnosis for my weakness, decided it was time to find the best thing for my body. I work with nurses and therapists who recommended these crutches, and they have given me my life back. I am able to walk almost normally with them and they do not put any strain on my body. I have always been a big walker, and the ability to get a bit of that back, has been phenomenal. They did slip a bit on the ice, but I have yet to meet a crutch that would not. I would give them more than 5stars if it was possible.

Caring Daughter.

Purchased as a gift for Grandpa. The grandkids chose a beautiful royal blue with black accents. Nice to have color choices rather than being stuck with the old cold-stainless-steel standby. My only concern was how thin they appeared in comparison to his old ones. Grandpa had absolutely no problem with that. He loved how much lighter they were. The Millennial In-Motion Forearm Crutches arrived in 1 small box that weighed less than 7lbs. They were simple to assemble and easy to adjust. The ergonomic handles are labeled L (left) and R (right) so that the cushioned grip can be properly appreciated. As for the actual usage...my father could not have been happier. Having used forearm crutches since childhood, he is very well acquainted with these walking aids. However was the first time using the Millennial In-Motion. *The first thing noted was the weight difference between the old crutches and the Millennial. The Millennial was much, much lighter. *As mentioned above the hand grips are nicely cushioned and ergonomically shaped for more comfort…which he too appreciated. *The arm-cuff is deceiving. It appears to be narrow, however fit 5 different arm thicknesses comfortably (we all played with Grandpa’s new crutches). *Shock Absorbing Tips were just AWESOME. Grandpa actually moved quicker with the Millennial In-Motion Forearm Crutches. He had experiencing shoulder pain and claims they have subsided since using these forearm crutches. I firmly believe it’s due to the Shock Absorbing system. Moreover, he usually uses a cane while in the house, however has been so happy with the Millennials, he has decided to use them in the house as well. His exact statement was, "It's like getting a new pair of legs".

The description of this product on the Allegro web site does not state that the cuffs are made of plastic, and as such are not adjustable. I had to return this product as a result.
