Crutch Tip Mushroom-Grip ZTips by NexStep
There are two designs of Mushroom-Grip ZTips™ for the ZCrutch™ series. Both ZTips flatten when compressed in order to provide a significantly larger traction footprint than any traditional crutch tip.
Each Crutch Tip is "mushroom-shaped" and the bottom surface is designed with molded-in concentric traction rings engineered to gently flex and compress as weight is applied. This "mushrooming" effect, significantly increases the surface area on initial floor contact; which reduces slippage at the point of impact where the patient is most vulnerable to potential falls.
Mushroom-Grip ZTips pivot effortlessly with each stride - providing a gentle rocking motion for a much smoother gait. The mushroom tip's unique design eliminates the uncomfortable "pogo-stick effect" that is common to flat-bottomed crutch tips.
The materials used for the Crutch Tips:
- Increase durability
- Maximize traction and skid-resistance
- Enhance energy return
Deluxe ZTip Crutch Tips
The Deluxe ZTip Crutch Tips are 3 inches high and 2¾ inches in diameter and are made of a proprietary blend of TPE similar to those materials used in the soles of high end running shoes. These tips are engineered for heavier individuals weighing up to 450 pounds. They are designed with 7 concentric rings for improved traction and skid resistance. This tip is very durable even in hot weather used on asphalt and concrete surfaces.
Economy ZTip Crutch Tips
The Economy ZTip Crutch Tips for the ZCrutch are smaller than the Deluxe ZTips at 2 inches high and 2 inches in diameter. They are made from a durable TPE material and each contains 6 traction rings. Economy
ZTips are designed for patients weighing up to 225 pounds.
