Invacare Infinity Cushions

Three distinct layers come together to form one Infinity Cusion with FloGel or ViscoFoam. These layers - the Postural Support Layer, Pelvic Support Layer and Ishial Relief Insert - work as a unit to provide the utmost in support, positioning and pressure reduction to meet individual needs.

Postural Support Layer

All Infinity cushions include the Postural Support Layer, available in three contour options. The Lo Contour features a non-contoured front end for very active users. The Gentle Contour is designed with mild abductor/adductor contouring that helps provide neutral leg positioning. The Max Contour allows for aggressive leg positioning and enhanced pressure redistribution.

All contour options are constructed of durable, high-density polyurethane foam. Plus, they all feature reinforced lateral bevels which provide firm adductor support and allow the cushion to be used on a drop base with no carving required.

ViscoFoam and FloGel

The Pelvic Support Layer, made from molded, high-density viscoelastic foam, is designed with client comfort and stability in mind. The trochanteric shelf helps support the pelvis while at the same time distributing forces away from critical areas.

Ischial Relief Insert

Infinity cushions are offered with ViscoFoam or FloGel Ischial Relief Inserts. The soft ViscoFoam provides excellent conformity to bony prominences and is extremely light weight. FloGel also provides exceptional flow and conformity, and provides dynamic shear reduction. Inner cover is maintenance-free, moisture proof, antimicrobial, wipes clean, zippered to provide access to cushion components. Outer cover is waterproof and its breathable design allows circulation to help the user stay cool and dry.

Options and Accessories

Allegro carries the adjustable drop bases, extra covers and cushion rigidizers and offers Adjustable Pelvic Obliquity, Removable Leg Wedges and Leg Length Discrepancy options. The drop base allows the cushion to be dropped within the wheelchair frame. It allows for effortless width, height, and angle adjustment, easy portability and contains quick-release hardware that provides secure attachment to any wheelchair. Leg-length discrepancy accommodation and Adjustable pelvic obliquity options are available. Adjustable pelvic obliquity raises one hip while lowering the other, helping the user maintain a low center of gravity within the cushion surface. Removable leg wedges may also be ordered to accomodate hip flexion limitations or to facilitiate foot propulsion. You may choose these options when configuring your cushion.
