I find the reacher very useful for picking things up that I can't reach from the height of my wheelchair. The one I just bought was a replacement for one I've lost, but I like it better because it folds and thus can be carried more easily.

This is the second reacher for me. The only problem I have with this new one is that it's hard to pick up small things. The other one had rubber on one tip that made small things easier to get. Now it's just hard plastic. I do understand why you changed it however; in fact that's why I got a new one. The rubber wore out on the first reacher. Your reacher is by far the best one I have found. The ones in the stores are no where near the quality of yours.

Wife & I both limited mobility. Have one in all rooms of the house so they are handy. Use one on the riding mower to grab trash when mowing without getting off. Helps get the newspaper off the porch too.
One thing I noticed about the new model - the moveable part does not match up with the end of the shaft. Impossible to pick up really small items - ie: toothpick. Also the magnet is recessed a bit and not as strong as older models. Could store the older ones with the magnet on a metal shelf - not the new one.
All in all a good tool and very usefull!

I use it to pick up small branches that have fallen in my backyard etc. Also reaching things high up, in cabinets etc.

 I am in a wheelchair and grocery shopping can be a challenge as many items are out of reach. I have never used a product, such as this, and wonder it could reach for canned and boxed items as well as tub containers such as sour cream?

Not good for items over 1/2 lb Great for small items dropped on floor. I'm in a wheelchair.
