I love this little reacher. It is great for that tissue that is just out of reach, or for the newspaper, or even a pill that you may have dropped on the floor.(Yes, I have done this, and this little reacher picked up the tiniest pill with no problem, I was impressed.) Good value Reacher

Pros:
Safe. Easy Storage. Lightweight. Inexpensive.
Best Uses:
Reaching from wheelchair.
Describe Yourself:
CHF. Charcot's Syndrome. Full time in wheelchair.

When you live in a wheelchair, reaching tools make life a lot easier. Like many tools, you may have similar ones that you use for slightly different tasks and those that perform differently based on how much you pay for them. For the price, this is an excellent tool. I bought this for use in my van. The low price means I can leave it there. I have other reachers that perform better AND also cost more. I have no regrets about purchasing this one. It performs very well especially for the price. I have others that are more sturdy and lift more in weight. They cost 2-3 times as much. I like this reacher.

Answer:
The tips are plastic, coated with a rubbery surface for a better grip. There is a pretty strong magnet in the handle end that will pick up fairly heavy things like silverware or a letter opener.
