I used to agonize over my wife's yelling over the phone to be understood by her 95-year-old mother in Canada. Now, with a geemarc Ampli500 on both ends of the conversation, there is no more yelling. Your related technology is a blessing in this family. Robert (and Elizabeth) Swindle, Peoria, Arizona

Good quality phone Verified Purchaser

This is a high quality made phone. Very easy to set up and use. The amplification is very good. A normal phone has 10-15 dB, so at the 30 dB setting it is twice as loud as a normal phone. I like the outgoing voice amplification also. You can amplify your own voice up to 12 dB which makes it easier for someone to hear you. My great-aunt could understand what I was saying with my voice amplified. There are about 4-5 different ring tones...some of them lower pitched and much easier for me to hear all over the house. The high setting is quite loud so I keep it on the low setting and I hear the phone most of the time when in remote part of house. I would definitely reccommend this phone to anyone who has trouble hearing on a regular phone. For the price I think the 1-year warranty inadequate, but it seems as though all manufactuors are going this route. The only con so far is that the dial buttons are rather stiff to push, and someone with arthritis may have a hard time pushing them. However, if you enter all your most used phone numbers in the "phone book" all you have to do is scroll through the phone book to the number you want...pick up the handset and the phone will dial the number itself.
