I'm a home health OTA and bought this as an example to show patients. I figured that being plastic and being able to break it down for travel it would be perfect, but it's so large that even broken down it seems very unwieldy. If I'd have known it was so large and awkward, I would've bought one of the smaller lighter weight metal ones.

not good if you have a belly hard to use

Since the handles are inflexible, and short, if you have to lay it down to put foot in, the handles are out of reach, and can't be pulled up by a 'reacher'. If you are thin, this may not be an issue. Better than nothing, sometimes, for putting on loose big socks, but impossible for us to use for strong compression stockings, as my mom and I can't pull them open enough to pull them over the sock aid part, and when we've had someone stronger do this, (leaving them ready to go for the morning), it takes too much force to pull/push to get them on, especially with the first listed comments. There are more user friendly products that are even cheaper that we've seen and used since for regular socks. Still looking for something that works with compression socks for folks with a protruding belly, and that won't cause back or thumb or arm strain. manufacturers: perhaps you can invent something that starts out thin and then 'cranks' wider (without having to hand crank)-rechargable battery operated perhaps???
