Bought this item at a local pharmacy. The plan was to use it to crush large vitamin tablets my elderly mother takes. What a mistake ! I'm a "normal" guy and found twisting the cap to crush the vitamin tablet required the strength of Samson. It jammed on me several times, requiring I use a wrench to get it unjammed. If you have strong wrist/hand muscles and don't mind a good workout, it's fine. For "normal" caregivers using it to crush a large vitamin tablet without injuring themselves - forget it ! there should be warnings on the label describing it's limitations.

The pill crusher did not effectively reduce pills to a powder or into pieces that are small enough to quickly dissolve in a liquid. Similar products that I’ve used for this purpose were much more effective. It appears the cap that protrudes into the cup is too small and does not fit the cup’s shape. There is still too much room between the bottom of the cup and the cap when the cap is screwed at its tightest. Other makers of this product have the cap bottom actually touch the cup when screwed at its tightest.
