I purchased this item for my father. He complained about the difficulty in maintaining his toenails. So far he loves it. His only negative comment to date is that will doing his big toe(The thickest nail). The device did struggle a little. His solution was to trim while sitting on his bed. Using a small stool to put his foot on, He was able to use his other foot to apply extra pressure on lever

Design flaws. Weak construction. Doesn't close hard enough.

The designers never tested it on its most likely users. A stop prevents it from squeezing enough to cut old hard nails. And this is not easy to change. It doesn't open enough for thick nails either. A roller fell off because it was only staked in place and not pinned. Other than that, I found it moderately easy to use but not real easy to use.
