Product Overview

Ableware Raptor Reacher

Raptor Reacher
Maximum value at a moderate price

The Raptor Reacher is a low cost, durable, lightweight, all plastic reacher with a contemporary design unlike other reachers. The jaw opens a full 2 1/2" (6.3 cm) and provides a tight grip on even the smallest items such as coins or bulky items like newspapers, clothing and cans. A hook-like extension on the front can be used as a dressing aid. The Raptorâ„¢ Reacher makes it easy to "grab" items that are otherwise hard to reach

The Raptor Reacher is 24" (61 cm) long and only weighs 6 oz. (.17 kg).

U.S. Patent #6,669,254; Int'l. patents pending

This is my second raptor reacher

Pros:
Safe. Easy Storage. Lightweight.
Best Uses:
Elderly. dressing aid.
Describe Yourself:
hip surgery patient.

Loved my first one so much I purchased a second to keep in my bedroom. I use this for so many things - as a dressing aid; picking up dog dish to feed dog; picking up my newspaper from outside; doing laundry; and of course, picking up various items (including the soap in the shower) that I have dropped.

GREAT but needs one addition

Pros:
Safe. Easy Storage. Lightweight. Sturdy.
Cons:
None that I can find.. Needs a magnet.
Best Uses:
Elderly. Folks in wheelchairs.
Describe Yourself:
Wheelchair bound.

I just bought this item and right away I knew I was going to like it. It's just the right length to transfer items from one hand to the other. It is light weight but very sturdy. However my other grabbers all had a magnet on the very tip and it was GREAT for picking up metal items that had fallen on the floor. I WOULD SUGGEST THAT A MAGNET BE ADDED TO THE TIP OF THE RAPTOR AND THEN YOU WOULD HAVE THE PERFECT GRABBER!!!

Exactly as decribed

Pros:
Lightweight. Safe. Easy Storage. Sturdy.
Best Uses:
Elderly. Back surgery patients. hip surgery patients.
Describe Yourself:
back surgery patient.

This grabber will allow me to pick up paper and anything else on the floor without bending much. Some grabbers are heavy. This one is very lightweight. Also, be sure to get the right length grabber. One too long will prevent you from reaching an item to your other hand!

I'm a wheelchair user and have had "reachers" for years. Finally my Raptor is just the length. Others I've had are too long for some uses.

Best thing since sliced white bread

Pros:
Sturdy. Lightweight. Easy Storage. Safe.

As far as I'm concerned there isn't one negative thing about this product. I've been using it for years and keep one in the kitchen and one in the bedroom. I consider this to be a part of my new quality of life since developing Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue and Osteo Arthritis. I feel this product is useful for anyone and everyone whether dealing with a disability or not.
