Unlike some people, I lose weight best if I monitor it daily. However, I have no need for BMI readings or any other bell or whistle. I've just replaced a digital scale with this model. The digital scale was extraordinarily difficult to calibrate (with each use), and although consistent, it was time-consuming and frustrating to get a result from it. This sort of scale is not exact, but I can be consistent in how I stand on it so that I get an accurate day-to-day weight. Since it is mechanical and easily calibrated with the twist of a dial, I feel more confident with my results from this scale than I felt with my digital scale. It's the perfect scale for the family, too.
