After extensively researching the different types and brand names of bathroom scales, the SECA name appeared to get consistently high marks for quality and reliability (fine German craftsmanship and all that), however not in my case. I was very disappointed to find that the mechanical needle on the scale would not reset itself to zero after each use. In fact, I couldn't get it to even land on zero; 5 lbs. was as low as it went. Each time I weighed myself, the weight indicated fluctuated wildly by as much as 30 lbs. either way. Even after refering to the instruction manual and placing a phone call to customer service, the problem was not rectified. Either I got a lemon or else something is inherently wrong with the mechanics of this scale. I do not recommend.
