Tuning fork rating--OK overall

Pros:
tunable. got what i paid for. good for vibration test. fairly light.
Cons:
not very loud. nothing special.
Best Uses:
neuro vibration testing. weber/rinne test. medical use.

I use the product for medical purposes, namely doing the neurological exam on patients. I purchased the fork for testing vibration and it is useful for this as it is big and vibrates enough that if you place it on a joint the patient is able to feel it clearly vibrating. Smaller forks patients had a difficult to impossible time feeling the vibration but this works well. It is also loud enough to use for Weber and Rinne testing if needed. The tuning adjustment is nifty but not particularly useful for my purposes. It's fairly light and overall I'm happy with what I got for the price.

Describe Yourself:
Instrument maker.

I needed a simple portable frequency standard and this was what I wanted. I can calibrate this tuning fork against a secondary standard then take the tuning fork in the field with me.
