Overall a decent alt. to Pepatmen, which is much more expensive. It doesn't seem to provide as much nutrition, i.e. you can't "live" on it but I don't think that's what it's made for.It's a good weight gain supplement for people like me with Crohn's. Make sure to take Gas-X or something similar with it, or you may not be very happy.[...]

HELP WITH FAILURE TO THRIVE

I buy this product for my 87 year old mother who is in hospice care due to failure to thrive. She is bed-ridden, for the most part, and we have been trying to get her multiple bed sores to heal. Drinks that are high in protein and calories were recommended to aid in that process and this Carnation drink was the best I could find. The problem has been that it does not taste that great. So, the caregiver has been experimenting with adding different things to help the taste. Mom's sores are doing dramatically better. We believe it is partly due to the improvement in her nutrition levels, but mainly due to the outstanding wound care she is receiving at the boarding home where she lives.

My brother in law and sister in law suffered from dramatic weight loss due to medical issues. He was down to 103lbs, and she was down to 80lbs. This product was used while they were hospitalized and they were able to get back to a healthier weight pretty fast. They both like the taste and despite both having sensitive stomachs, had no issues with this product. We purchased it for home use to continue dietary supplementation. Definitely would recommend to any one who is having caloric intake issues.

This is the the drink that U of M had my husband on for protien and calories. I tried to by it locally and could not find it. When ordered on line we recive it within a day or two. Love this product and Allego Medical has been recommended to friends who could bedefit from products oredered on line.
