JEVITY 1.5 CAL is a calorically dense liquid food with a patented fiber blend that provides Complete, Balanced Nutrition®.

Jevity 1.5 CAL Features
  • Concentrated calories (1.5 Cal/mL) to help tube-fed patients gain and maintain healthy weight
  • 22 g of dietary fiber in 1 Liter (12 g of a patented soluble and insoluble fiber blend and 10 g of fructooligosaccharides [scFOS]), which helps meet daily fiber needs. Fiber helps moderate bowel function
  • Includes 15 g NutraFlora® scFOS®/1500 mL. scFOS are prebiotics that stimulate the growth of beneficial bacteria in the colon.

jevity is a great fiber supplement. I have a G-Tube so I pour it in the Peg. It goes down easy and fills me up. we have extra cans of this, can non-patients like my athletic sons who drinks milk regularly (fresh, full cream, skim, non-fat, soy and others) use/drink this Jevity and glucerna 1.5 cal as milk-protein supplement at any time or all the time like any other milk for non-patients? what could be benefits or side effects?

does Jevity 1.5 cause diarrhea in tube fed patient? Substitution was sent and he has had severe diarrhea every since. Originally was placed on Jevity 1.5 with no problems. Don't know when nor why he was changed. I have been told that this product is replacing Jevity 1.5.

My Father in-law (stroke victim) uses this but he is now having trouble opening the cans. Is there an issue if I pour the cans in plastic easy pour containers and put in the fridge for his use later in the day?

It really varies depending upon the individual's age, gender, current weight, and activity level. For example my 60yr old, 145lb., sedentary mother takes 350mL of Jevity with 150mL water flush 4x daily.
