Milupa UCD 2 is a powdered medical food containing a mixture of essential pure L-amino acids, enriched with vitamins, minerals and trace elements. For the dietary management of urea cycle disorders in children and adults, including pregnant women and women of child-bearing age.

Milupa UCD 2 Indications:

• Carbamylphosphate Synthetase Deficiency (CPS) (citrulline or arginine supplementation required)

Milupa UCD 2 Preparation:

The amount of UCD 2 needed to supplement total daily protein requirements depends on age, body weight and individual protein tolerance. The dose of UCD 2 must be determined by a physician or dietitian and adjusted periodically.

The daily amount required should be divided into 3 to 5 single portions and can be taken mixed with calculated amounts of other food (e.g. beverages, fruit mousse). For accuracy, UCD 2 should be weighed on a gram scale.

Store unopened cans at room temperature. Do not store at extreme temperatures. After opening, keep can tightly covered and store in a cool, dry place (not in the refrigerator) and use within four weeks.

Precaution: Must be used under medical supervision. For individuals over one year of age with proven Urea Cycle Disorders. Not suitable as a sole source of nutrition. Not for parenteral use.
