Milupa PKU 3

Milupa PKU 3 is a powdered medical food containing a mixture of pure L-amino acids free from phenylalanine, enriched with vitamins, minerals and trace elements. For the dietary management of phenylketonuria and hyperphenylalaninemia in older children adults, including pregnant women and women of child-bearing age.

Milupa PKU 3 - Preparation:

The amount of PKU 3 needed to supplement total daily protein requirements (other than phenylalanine) depends on age, body weight, and individual phenylalanine tolerance. The dose of PKU 3 must be determined by a physician or dietitian and adjusted periodically.

The daily amount required should be divided into 3 to 5 single portions and can be taken mixed with calculated amounts of other food (e.g. beverages, fruit mousse). For accuracy, PKU 3 should be weighed on a gram scale.

Store unopened cans at room temperature. Do not store at extreme temperatures. After opening, keep can tightly covered and store in a cool, dry place (not in the refrigerator) and use within four weeks.

Precaution:Must be used under medical supervision. For adolescents, adults, and pregnant women with proven PKU/HPA. Not suitable as a sole source of nutrition. Not for parenteral use.
