Product Overview

Biomedical Life Systems BioStim Digital NMS+ Neuromuscular Stimulator

BioStim Digital NMS+ Neuromuscular Stimulator

BioMedical Life Systems is proud to introduce its new generation of electrotherapy devices, the BioStim Digital NMS+ Muscle Stimulator. Its compact size and user-friendly programming features make the BioStim’s design unique among electrotherapy devices.

The unit measures 3.75” x 2.5” x 1.25” when closed, and opens and additional 2.5” to reveal the easy to read LCD screen and digital keypad. Simple to understand instructions guide the user through all of the device’s operations. Five pre-programmed protocols, three of which are incontinence therapies, ensure ease of use. With two waveforms to choose from, asymmetrical or symmetrical biphasic square waves, the device can be used as a Muscle Stimulator and/or a TENS device. The unit has three types of stimulation, continuous, cycled or reciprocating and adjustable pulse rate and pulse width. The patient lock system, when activated, allows parameters to be set and locked preventing the patient from changing the settings. When the patient lock is deactivated, the patient compliance meter is displayed showing the cumulative time the device has been used. The timer allows the patient to set the duration of each therapy session. The two-channel device incorporates touch proof design and operates on four AA batteries.

BioStim Digital NMS+ Specifications
  • Size: 3.75" x 2.5" x 1.25" (95 mm x 63 mm x 32 mm)
  • Weight: 8 oz (266 grams)
  • Channels: Dual
  • Waveform: Asymmetrical square biphasic (TENS)
  • Symmetrical, biphasic, square (NMS)
  • Pulse Rate (adj.): 1- 120 Hz

  • Therapy 1: 35 Hz, 300 µs, Symmetrical Biphasic
  • Therapy 2: 35 Hz, 300 µs, Asymmetrical Biphasic

Plenty of options for treatment

Pros:
Lightweight. Sturdy. Safe. Easy Storage.
Cons:
sensitivity variablity .
Best Uses:
tendinitious.
Describe Yourself:
Average person who overdo.

Used this for tennis elbow and a torn tendon and worked effectively to stimulate the surrounding muscle groups. Only thing I didn't like was the range of stimulation in the unit. It should he calibrated in smaller increments. The stimulation went from too weak to too strong with small increases in the stimulation

I own three - two are six years old Verified Reviewer

Pros:
Lightweight. Effective. Sturdy. Safe. Easy Storage.
Best Uses:
Physical therapy. Pain relief -arthritis.
Describe Yourself:
Senior citizen. Athletic. Medical Professional. Caregiver.

I use the product for every type of arthritic or injury pain. I keep it away from throat area. I am a RN. I use the NMS pre-programmed features for pelvic prolapse and the tens features for pain relief. I have programmed it myself but find it challenging. At this price I may buy another tonight. I have recommended it to people in S. Africa, England and basically all over the world. I like it far better than my physical therapist's - far cheaper - can wear it while doing housework or anytime really.
