FitBall Exercise Programs

While exercises can be adapted to increase or decrease their difficulty, for example taking one foot off the floor, products are available which can be used with the ball to alter the mobility of the ball or intensity of the exercise.

It is important when using your Fitball™ exercise ball to remember the unique properties of the ball. The Fitball will work your core stabilizers.

Core stability or Core stabilization refers to the long-term training of the deep postural muscles that support the spine, building a strong platform from which to launch your daily activities. The most effective method of training the deep stabilizers is to work or train in an unstable environment.

The FitBall Exercise Ball, being round, wants to roll away, requiring the postural muscles to engage in order to maintain balance. The ball is also unstable beneath your seat, adding to the challenge for postural muscles.

Benefits of using the Fitball include

  • Improved posture (sitting on a ball helps maintain correct spinal curve)
  • Reduced back pain from poor posture
  • Improved balance reactions (reduced risk of falling)
  • In some situations continence may improve through a general improvement in tone
  • Improved cardiovascular fitness and a positive effect on the respiratory system have also been observed.
  • Work your core stabilizers while strengthening other muscles during exercise.

Anyone who owns a FitBALL will tell you that they need a good way of storing their inflated exercise bubbles, especially if two or more are involved. Instead of throwing your FitBALLS in the corner, just use the handy Storage Rings to keep order in your exercise domain. They are guaranteed to tame your unruly balls while providing an attractive way to display up to 4 at a time.

The clear rings are manufactured from space age Plexiglas polymers – similar to the nearly impenetrable material used in the creation of “ant farms” and salad bar sneeze guards. The Storage Rings easily adjust to fit 55 cm to 85 cm sized balls with a convenient hook-and-pile closures. Coupled together with the clear device, your balls will appear to hover magically – defying gravity in the most peculiar way.

Click here to see the FitBall Storage Rings. Use one ring per FitBall.

* Not recommended for small children or those who are frightened by translucent materials

Excellent quality! Verified Purchaser

Pros:
Sturdy Construction. Versatile.
Cons:
No pump in package..
Best Uses:
Improving Core Strength. General Fitness. Stretching back muscles.
Describe Yourself:
Rarely Workout.

I bought the ball to improve core strength and to stretch my back. It's perfect for both. I am having problems getting it inflated enough, since there wasn't a pump included. The pump I have is for inflating air mattresses and is powerful, but doesn't have a nozzle effective enough to get full inflation. The quality of the ball is very high and will last many years.

The ball was very pretty, but I am returning it unused. The smell bothered me; some people are sensitive. Thank You, Kay

We use the product mainly for sit ups and core strengthing through balance exercises. The poster that came with the ball offers some good exercises but it would be nice if it had more.

Better than an office chair! Verified Reviewer

Pros:
Gym Quality. Sturdy Construction.
Describe Yourself:

Bought as a inexpensive replacement to a broken office chair. I will never go back to sitting in a chair while facing the computer all day! Great for people like me who can't sit still to start with.

The fitball is great, but sizing? Verified Purchaser

Pros:
Sturdy Construction. Good Grip. Gym Quality. Versatile.
Cons:
Loses Shape.
Best Uses:
Improving Core Strength. Weight Loss.
Describe Yourself:
Conditioning Exerciser.

I ordered this in the 65cm size to sit on at work. I was 100% that a 65cm ball would be fine because at my pilates studio, I use a 55cm to exercise and a 65cm to sit on while I wait for class. They also use the FitBall brand. So imagine my surprise when I inflate the 65cm ball I bought, and it's the same size as the 55cm one! The ball & box clearly say 65cm, but I know for sure it's a 55. I don't want to go through the hassle of sending it back, [...].Otherwise, FitBall balls are usually terrific, sturdy, and stay inflated for longer than other brands.
