Mini Elliptical Trainer

I ordered this mini-elliptical to help in my preparation for gastric bypass surgery, but I haven't even been able to try it because I can't assemble it! When it arrived, there was a small plastic bag containing bits of hardware and an allen wrench, and assembly instructions. They seemed simple to follow, but I found that the unit and the parts didn't match the description. I eventually realized the bolts to attach the plastic foot pedals were not in the bag of hardware. I thought, oh well, I guess I'll get them at the hardware store, but then I noticed something: the missing bolts weren't missing, they were already screwed into the bars where the pedals are meant to be attached. I don't know why they were, but they were. So I took my handy dandy allen wrench to loosen them... and couldn't. I may not be super strong, but I'm no weakling, either, and I'm telling you I can't budge them! It feels like they filled the hole with superglue before screwing them in. Actually, after trying every day for three days, I finally loosened one of the four, but that's all I can manage. I tried using a hammer to strike the wrench, but I only succeeded in knocking the wrench out of my hands. The unit has been sitting in my spare room now for a few weeks because I don't happen to have any guys nearby who can help me out. And anyway, I shouldn't need to get someone else in on this. Those bolts should have been in that bag of hardware!! Even better, I can't see any reason why the manufacturer doesn't ship the darned thing fully assembled. I'm quite miffed about the whole mess. I may recommend this item to a friend based on how well designed it SEEMS to be, but I'd caution them about possible assembly problems. NOTE: I included "extremely heavy" under Cons, but I imagine that the weight is probably necessary in order to keep the unit stable during use.

The mini elliptical is perfect. Small enough to sit right next to my desk, large enough to get my attention. It "calls my name". I use it several times a day because it is so convenient.

Unlike ellipticals with handles, I use it with power bands that are attached to my door, so I get resistance while using it,after I get off it feels like I'm still moving. It increases the aerobic activity.

I used the regular foot anchored resistance bands positioned under the machine for a good up/down arm motion and that works great! I attached a wall mount band system for more of a x-country ski approach with good result, too. This product is great because of it's compact build... I can move it out of the way, store it or set up a 'home gym' anywhere in the house... even outside! I even set up a sheet music stand so I could read and it's made my workout even better! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good basic home workout! And I had no problem setting it up, easy as pie!

I am 5'4" so the short stride still fits me. Easy to increase resistance and easy to use. The best part is the size - I just slide it out from under a desk and use while I'm watching TV. Just like being at a gym without the membership fee.
