Finis SwiMP3 Underwater MP3 Player
Finis SwiMP3 Waterproof MP3 Player V2 - 256 MB
The SwiMP3 V2 Waterproof MP3 Player by Finis is an incredible audio experience. Imagine listening to hours of your own music during your swim workout. The SwiMP3's innovative sound transfer technology offers exception underwater sound quality. Standard players rely on the transmission of sound through air or water causing the swimmer to perceive only muffled noise. The SwiMP3 waterproof MP3 uses bone conduction - the direct transfer of sound vibrations from the cheek bone to the inner ear - to provide the swimmer with exceptional sound clarity. The SwiMP3 is fully waterproof and can be used with all the competitive swim strokes.
How Does The SwiMP3 Work?
The new SwiMP3 underwater MP3 Player is revolutionary in that it relies on bone conduction of sound. When the device is placed on any bones of the skull (i.e. the cheek bones or the mastoid tip) it leads to vibration of the fluid in the inner ear. Thus swimmers can enjoy clarity of sound with the SwiMP3 device that was never before possible. Bone conduction hearing is a safe, well-established hearing mechanism in humans that the SwiMP3 player leverages to enhance aquatic activity. Finis's application of the technology brings an entirely new level of experience to swimmers, either while working out or taking a leisurely swim.
Safe and Proven Technology
Bone conduction hearing is essentially an ancient sensory capability that the new SwiMP3 waterproof mp3 player leverages to enhance the experience of swimmers, triathletes, surfers, synchronized swimmers and anyone involved in general water activities. It is a safe, proven technology that the SwiMP3 offers to the wide audience of aquatic athletes.

SwiMP3 FAQ
Q: What is the SwiMP3?
A: The SwiMP3 is a fully waterproof MP3 player that offers an incredible underwater audio experience.
Q: How does the SwiMP3 work?
A: Standard players rely on the transmission of sound through air or water causing the swimmer to perceive only muffled noise. The SwiMP3 uses bone conduction - the direct transfer of sound vibrations from the cheek bone to the inner ear - to provide the swimmer with exceptional sound clarity.
Q: What features come with the SwiMP3?
A: The SwiMP3 provides a 256 Mb capacity, which can play MP3 & WMA files. The unit includes a bass boost mode and the ability to pause and play songs in random order. Additional controls include volume control, shuffle, song next/previous and reset.
Q: Which file types does the SwiMP3 play?
A: The SwiMP3 will only play MP3 & WMA format songs. If you have AAC files they can be converted using iTunes.
Q: What is the maximum depth the SwiMP3 player can reach?
A: Although the SwiMP3 player will be waterproof beyond 10 feet, this is the point at which the water pressure prevents the speakers from vibrating enough to transmit sound.
Q: What type of batteries does the SwiMP3 utilize?
A: The SwiMP3 comes with a built-in lithium ion polymer rechargeable battery that lasts approximately four hours. It is recommended to charge the unit three hours before initial use and for additional recharges.
Q: Is there a higher capacity SwiMP3 or can the SwiMP3 be expanded?
A: Currently the 256 Mb capacity unit is the only model available. The SwiMP3 can not be expanded due to its need to be sealed watertight.
Q: Can I use my own headphones with the SwiMP3?
A: The SwiMP3 does not have a headphone jack due to the transfer mechanism in which sound is transmitted. With standard earphones, the high fidelity sound that bone conduction technology provides would not be available.
Q: What is the warranty of the SwiMP3?
A: The SwiMP3 has a 90-day warranty.
Q: My Computer won’t recognize my SwiMP3 player when I plug it in?
A: Press the reset button on the SwiMP3 player while the unit is plugged in. This is the small white button above the on/off and in between the green and red LED lights.
Q: Nothing happens when I press the ON/OFF button on my SwiMP3?
A: Press the reset button then try turning the unit on. If this doesn’t work charge your SwiMP3. If this still does not offer a solution, try holding the ON/OFF for a second or two longer in order for unit to register.
Q: The green and red lights turn on when I press the ON/OFF button, but turn off when I release it?
A: This may be happening because the SwiMP3 can not read the files on your player. Make sure you don’t have folders on your SwiMP3 and confirm that the files loaded onto the SwiMP3 are indeed MP3 files.
Q: When I turn on my SwiMP3 the green light blinks and no songs play?
A: This can mean one of two things:
- If the green light is blinking three times you need to press the NEXT/VOL+ button to initialize the memory. Doing this will make the green light blink quickly then turn into a double blink.
- If the green light is blinking twice, this means the unit is empty or can not read the files on your SwiMP3; make sure you don’t have folders on your SwiMP3 and confirm that the files loaded onto the SwiMP3 are indeed MP3 files.
Q: I need to format my SwiMP3 player but it won’t turn on so that I may do so?
A: Connect your SwiMP3 player to your computer. Once it is recognized by your computer open up the "My Computer" window, right click on your SwiMP3 which should be listed as "Removable Disk". When the menu appears as a result of your right click, choose "Format". The format window will appear. Make sure you that the file system is "FAT" not "FAT32". Once you have selected the right file system, click the "Start" button to begin the format. A window will appear to confirm that formatting will delete all files from your SwiMP3 player. Click "OK" and the format will begin. Once the format is complete you can load songs back to your SwiMP3 player.
Q: While the SwiMP3 is playing the green light blinks. What does this mean?
A: A green flashing light during playback is an indication that your battery life is low and the unit will need to be recharged soon.
Q: After a long workout the volume of my SwiMP3 begins to decrease?
A: A decrease of volume during playback is an indication that your battery life is low and the unit will need to be recharged soon.

Q: How do I resume playback after I have paused the SwiMP3?
