Connect your appliances into the Kill A Wattâ„¢, and assess how efficient they are. The P3 Kill A Watt Kilowatt Hour Meter has a large LCD display counts consumption by the Kilowatt-hour just like utility companies. You can figure out your electrical expenses by the hour, day, week, month, even an entire year using the Kill A Watt kilowatt hour meter. Monitor the quality of your power by displaying Voltage, Line Frequency, and Power Factor.

The Kill-A-Watt (KAW), manufactured by P3 International, is 5" tall x 2.25' wide x 1.5" thick (not counting electrical prongs) and weighs 4.6 ounces. The bottom front portion of the kilowatt usage meter contains an electric plug receptacle, and the bottom rear has a typical US three prong (grounded) plug. The Kill A Watt device is intended to act as a meter, going between the item that draws power and the power source - a typical wall outlet. To begin using the Kill-A-Watt kilowatt usage meter, you simply plug it into a wall socket and then insert the plug for the electronic device that you wish to monitor. According to the package documentation, the Kill-A-Watt's LCD will display all meter readings: Volts, Current, Watts, Frequency, Power Factor, and VA. The unit will start to accumulate KWH and powered duration time (hour) after power is applied.

First, the design blocks the second outlet. That's not a big problem but it's sole purpose is efficiency. Awesome product that should be in every home. Just plug in anything and see how much energy it uses. You'll be surprised how much energy electronics use when turned off. I keep a Kill A Watt meter connected to my electric fence to see if it is grounded out or if there is a short.
