The Magellan RoadMate 1440 GPS Unit features onetouch favorites menu with instant access to personalized bookmarks of favorite places and searches. Highway lane assist signs point the driver in the right direction when approaching interchanges and exits. QuickSpell with SmartCity search narrows address and city searches, making destination entry easy. Multi-destination routing with route optimization - plan a trip with multiple stops in the order you want or optimize a trip for the most efficient route, saving time and money. Millions of poinits of interest (POIs) - gas stations, restaurants, ATMs, coffee shops, highway exits, etc. Customizable route method - select the shortest distance, fastest time, most use of freeways, or least use of freeways to customize the route.

Auto night view adjusts the screen's color and contrast for easy night viewing. Automatic re-route gets the driver quickly back on track in case a turn is missed. Plan route on map by simply touching a destination on the map and then directly routing to it.
