Product Overview

ABENA Abri-San Special Incontinence Pad - Fecal and Bladder Control Pad

ABENA Abri-San Special Incontinence Pad
for fecal and urinary incontinence

ABENA Abri-San Special Incontinence Pad: A premium European adult incontinence product that offers high level of leakage security and optimum comfort for end users.

Fecal incontinence is a vastly under reported but fairly common problem. It is often associated with considerable costs due to the high frequency of changing and the resources needed for cleaning up after episodes of fecal loss. For the end user, embarrassing situations caused by leakage have a negative impact on their life and often lead to social isolation. Fecal incontinence requires something SPECIAL.
Special Features:

  • Specially Designed Leakage Barriers: The new barrier system with "built-in" pockets keeps feces inside even when released under pressure.
  • Gentle Air Plus Backing: The breathable Air Plus backing reduces the risk of skin soreness caused by repeated contact with feces.
  • Designed to allow frequent pad changes: Abri-San Special is based on the cost effective two piece system, minimizing product costs, even when changed frequently. Abena recommends using products from the Abri-Fix range when fitting Abri-San Special.
  • Improved Care, Lower Costs: Abri-San Special can improve care and skin condition, while at the same time lowering the costs of cleaning and washing.

Abri-San Special Faecal Incontinence Pads are ultra premium: they are constructed with the most innovative technology and unsurpassed quality; they are completely breathable which ensures better overall skin health; they are certified free of dangerous chemicals and allergens; they are environmentally friendly.

Excellent Fecal Pad Verified Reviewer

Pros:
Very absorbent. Comfortable to wear. keeps mess in. Not too thick to walk in.
Cons:
Must be changed after use. No tabs or stick strip. Must use with panties.
Best Uses:
Holds large amount fluid. Can walk in them. Contains diarrhea mess.
Describe Yourself:
Retired male; weak bowel. Active on go person.

I use these pads only for Fecal diarrhea control as they will absorb all the runny mess. Nothing else will hold the messy diarrhea like having these pads on. I wear a mesh panty and insert the pad then put on plastic panties over all. This controls the liquid mess and keeps it from leaking down the legs. Once a BM has occurred it is advisable to change the pad as a second BM will result in leakage plus the first is very uncomfortable to be in when messy. No other diaper has been able to hold the messy diarrhea in like these pads.

More diaper like than pad

Pros:
. Very thick.
Cons:
No adhesive.
Describe Yourself:
Retired male; weak bowel.

Not what I was looking for. This is more like a diaper that fit inside underwear (no adhesive), than a pad (what I was looking for).

BOTTOM LINE No, I wouldn't recommend this to a friend

Special Incontinence pad

Pros:
Really large.
Cons:
No adhesive Tape.
Best Uses:
Just what it is designed .
Describe Yourself:
Active on go person.

You put this on just like a womens pad. The wider part goes in back, and the front on the front. Make sure that the front and the back parts are evenly spread out or it will become uncomfortable.

fecal incontenence

Exactly what I have been looking for. I'm a plus size woman and the large diapers that fit me are too bulky, difficult to take on and off and have way too much material. This is like a giant sanitary napkin and fits perfectly inside my underwear and is easy to put on and smooth out so the back doesn't look bulky.

Question:
How well do these hold urine? Are they on par with the S3 pull-ups or S4 diaper briefs? I know that they would not hold as much, but interested in leakage control.

Answer:
I have to tell you, I wanted to try these forever as I used the Tena supers and wanted something thinner. I was mortified when they leaked urine out of the sides. Somehow I think they, as they claim, are meant more for fecal incontinence than urine. I've tried a couple of other times with the same results. I was not happy with these. My main issue is nocturnal enuresis.

Answer:
I am just getting ready to order these again.. they are the best I have found yet. Actually, the absorbency doesn't help much if there isn't containment. These definitely do the job,and they hold quite a bit, but if you need morem perhaps you might do as I do and use some booster pads along with them. I absolutely love these pads and thanking God for finding them. I hope this answer helps.

Question:
These are 14" wide and 27" long?? Or are they 27" wide and 14" long? Is this size normal for such pads?

Answer:
They are longer than they are wide. We used them inside the pull up diaper my mother-in -law wore. They provided her with more dignity, because they absorbed much more than just the pull up alone. She said they gave her more piece of mind when around family and friends, etc...no more embarrassing moments. Highly recommend!

Answer:
These pads are 14"w and 27"l. This seems large but that size works well when fecal incontinence is also an issue. Many pads only address bladder incontinence. Mom was fitted with this size pad when in the nursing home. Now, at home, we have found these pads to be very good.
