The Allegro Medical Reusable Bed Pads offers three layers of protection and comfort. The Bed Pads have a quilted cotton/polyester surface, absorbent inner layer and waterproof backing. They are machine washable and dryable. The Reusable Bed Pads by Allegro are the ideal Bed Pad for use as either hospital bed pads, or home-use bed pads.

Okay so here it is. My mom had one on her bed when she was home. I have two small dogs that are trained to use a "wee wee" pad when they have to urinate and unable to get taken out for this. I came up with the idea of using these pads because they wash are sturdy and I deal with a one-time purchase price. So I love them, instead of 21.00 a month every month for the throw away pads, I simply wash these and change them. So, now you know.

I put it over the bottom sheet and, if it gets wet during the night I don't have to change the entire bed -- only the pad. Saves a lot of anguish and gives more time to sleep. In the morning, it is so easy to launder.

I have tried similar products and they all seem to have the same problem..the tendency to form uncomfortable wrinkles when repositioning. I have also found the stitching used in the quilting pattern this particular brand has a rough texture which can cause chaffing.

I bought some for my own mother and my father in law. They add just enough extra protection and can be used on the bed or on a chair. They work very well and hold up very well. I got the idea from seeing them in a rehab facility. I think they would work well even for young children who may still be having accidents overnight.
