Great for home use - I usually need a hand to rise out of a chair, etc. after sitting for long periods. However, I purchased the one for up to 340 lbs and although I weigh 100 pounds less - this item broke in less than a year. The mechanism is anchored to a PLASTIC-type sheet on the bottom and that is what broke rendering it useless. I did not use it that often - I did not get the amount of use from it that I thought I would. Great item and price - but do not want to purchase a new one each year. Would only recommend for short term use and less than 200 lbs. Not good for portability in restaurants due to possible sliding from chair /seat it is placed on.

Cons:
Unstable. Sticks in down position.
Best Uses:

Describe Yourself:

I use it on an overstuffed chair or dining room chair. If I sit too long it gets uncomfortable and my hip begins to ache. Sometimes the rod sticks and my husband has to reposition it so that the seat can open or close again. I placed a pillow on it to make it more comfortable. The cover keeps slipping off so I just leave it off.

Good for the price Verified Purchaser

Pros:
Portability. Solid Construction. Multiple Positions. Easy to Control. Comfortable.
Cons:
Limited Functions.
Best Uses:
Home. Limited Space.
Describe Yourself:
Elderly. No strength in legs.

I have great difficulty rising. Lift chairs are too expensive, so I was glad to find the UpEasy lifting cushion at a price we could afford. The lift helps when starting to raise up from an easy chair, but the stroke extension only rotates the lift about 30 degrees so it doesn't help me up off the chair as much as I had hoped.
