Love my Luggie!

Pros:
Convenient. Portable. Quiet. Light weight.
Cons:
Seat not padded..
Best Uses:
Traveling short distances.
Describe Yourself:
58 year old female. Bad back and hip.

I have had my Luggie about 3 months now, and love it. I did not want a lift on the back of my car, and the Luggie is small enough that I can get it in and out of my trunk myself. There was a definite learning curve to figure out exactly what to hold and how to get the best leverage. I have a rubber mat that I put over the trunk edge to protect the car. I put the tiller down first, then prop the seat end against the edge of the trunk. I rotate the Luggie up so that it is balanced on the edge of the trunk, then pull the handle to lower the seat. This way I don't hurt my back by bending over while it is on the ground. Then I simply slide it the rest of the way into the trunk. I just returned from a trip to Disney World, and traveling with the Luggie was great. I rode it down the jetway to the door of the plane, locked the tiller into the down position and folded down the seat. At this point it looks sort of like a sled. The airline put a gate check tag on it, then they handled it like a piece of luggage that was gate checked. It was at the door of the plane when we landed, I raised the tiller and seat, then cruised through the Atlanta airport to my connecting flight faster than the regular passengers. At WDW, the Luggie went right on the monorail and onto a bus. The only downside is that the Luggie is not really made to spend the day in like I did on this trip because the seat is not padded. I took advantage of opportunities to sit in other chairs when I had the chance. I also do not have the arms installed on mine to reduce the weight. I looked at some videos on You-tube, and found that very helpful in making my decision to order the Luggie.
