Product Overview

Bunion Aid Flexible Splint

Bunion Aid Flexible Splint
The Flexible Splint That Relieves Painful Bunions

Bunion Aid is a comfortable, hinged splint developed by scientists and orthopedists to prevent and treat painful bunions (hallux valgus). Easy to use, this dynamic day-and-night splint helps correct toe and joint malpositioning, while supporting the mid-foot and offering pain relief while walking or resting. The splint is adjustable to most adult foot sizes and can be worn left or right, day or night.Unlike traditional rigid hallux valgus night splints, this innovative hinged splint can be worn during the day while you walk, climb stairs and go about your daily activities. Lightweight and thin, it slips smoothly into almost any walking shoe.

By gently repositioning the big toe, Bunion Aid helps restore the foot’s natural range of motion. Much like the hinged knee braces athletes wear, Bunion Aid heals through encouraging proper alignment and movement. Enjoy bunion protection and correction anytime, anywhere with Bunion Aid!

How Does Bunion Aid Work? Bunion Aid helps restore the foot to its natural shape. This easy-to-use hinged splint slips comfortably onto your foot and discretely into your shoe to gently reshape the soft tissue at the base joint of the big toe and help correct the malpositioning over time.

Bunion Aid helps heal bunions with every wear. An adjustable strap wraps around the big toe to elongate the tightened soft tissue (capsule) of the base joint and help correct progressive malpositioning. The hinged splint, along with the metatarsal and toe straps, helps to stabilize the foot. With the aid of Bunion Aid, a foot with mild to moderate bunions can perform its natural flexing action with less or no pain.

What’s more, Bunion Aid’s adjustable metatarsal pad encourages the foot to maintain its natural arch. Splayfoot, or flat feet, often accompanies bunions and can be effectively supported and corrected with Bunion Aid.

Bunion Aid is also the only therapeutic splint that helps heal bunions both while you sleep at night, and while you’re on your feet throughout your busy, active day.

How Is Bunion Aid Used? Bunion Aid can be used preventively for mild to medium bunions, or postoperatively, after bunion surgery (also known as a bunionectomy, or a hallux valgus operation).

Preventive Use of Bunion Aid: Considered merely unsightly at first, bunions can cause increasing amounts of pain over time. With mild to moderate bunions, wearing the Bunion Aid orthopedic splint regularly during the day and/or night can help ease pain and counteract further big toe malpositioning. Studies confirm that Bunion Aid is effective in correcting mild to moderate hallux valgus malalignment.

Postoperative Use of Bunion Aid: Following a Hallux valgus operation, an orthosis (a corrective device for the foot, such as a splint) is generally recommended to stabilize the surgical fixation of the toe. Worn postoperatively, the Bunion Aid splint gently helps to stabilize the corrected alignment and protect the foot while bearing weight or walking.

Bunion Aid can help you get back on your feet again sooner, and, in many cases, without the use of bulky, orthopedic support. Bunion Aid can also shorten the post-surgery rehabilitation phase by enabling early mobility while healing.

How Does Bunion Aid Compare to Traditional Night Splints? Bunion Aid goes a step above and beyond traditional night splints – literally! BunionAid is the only hallux valgus splint that can be worn both at night, and discretely in your shoe during the day. Get back on your feet again—with Bunion Aid.

  • Bunion Aid corrects the malpositioning of the big toe – not only during rest but, more importantly, while walking and standing
  • Bunion Aid can be worn in a walking shoe
  • Bunion Aid supports the foot with every step
  • Bunion Aid can be used preventively or postoperatively
  • Bunion Aid shortens post-operative rehab time

Plastic is way too soft

Pros:
Comfortable. Easy To Use.
Cons:
Does not support position. Does not reposition toe.
Best Uses:
none.
Describe Yourself:
Casual/ Recreational. Work on my feet a lot.

I bought this hinged splint because it promised flexibility as your toe moved along one plane (up and down) while holding the big toe firmly in a straight position. The problem was that this product did not reposition my big toe at all, so it was like having a piece of plastic strapped to my foot for no reason. I tried to return it but haven't heard anything back and it's been weeks. I guess that was a $70 lesson...

So far so Good!

Pros:
Comfortable. Easy To Use. Stabilizes. Effective.
Best Uses:
Daily Use. Exercising.
Describe Yourself:
Competitive Athlete.

I purchased Bunion Aid online and just recieved it last night! Great timing, I had just finished our first team TRI relay of the season. It took the redness and swelling down on my bunions! Not to shabby for the first day! I am an avid runner and having bunions on my feet can be painful after a long run! This helped to reduce the pain! It does state on the box that Bunion Aid CAN be worn with larger wide width shoes, which means you'd have to buy one size lager to fit with the brace on. So far I am very pleased with this product!

Bunion pain relief after work Verified Reviewer

Pros:
Stabilizes. Comfortable. Effective. Straightens big toe.
Best Uses:
Extra Support. Pain relief. Daily Use.
Describe Yourself:

Need soothing support and bunion pain relief? Bunion Aid does it! Having the support around the mid-foot while pulling my big toe away from the second toe is such a relief after being in shoes all day. I can't wait to get home every evening to take off my shoes and put on this bunion splint. It's better than having a cocktail after work!"

Great Relief!!!! Verified Reviewer

Pros:
Great mid-foot support. Comfortable. Easy To Use. Effective. Stabilizes.
Best Uses:
Daily Use. Extra Support. Following Surgery.
Describe Yourself:
Casual/ Recreational.

I had bunion surgery in the past and my bunion has come back. When I saw this splint, I thought that it has great mid-foot support as well as moving the big toe back over. I put my splint on when I come home from work or from a walk and it is great relief. I wear it in the evening and sleep in it too. It is great to be able to get up during the night and walk normally!!! It is definitely worth the money.
