 How do I know what size ankle brace to order?

As a rule of thumb for this type of brace I was told that you measure around your ankle at the smallest point.
Small = 7-8 inches
Medium = 8.25-9 inches
Large = 9.25-10 inches
X-Large = 10.25-11 inches

How do you measure you foot for this ankle support---I have very skinny lower leg--7 1/4 in just above ankle bone---9 1/2 inches circumference around top to bottom of foot
