Phenotype-driven sizing system make size selection simple while drastically reducing margin of error in fitting a patient. Each collar has a bioengineered front with a specific back designed to work together for superior immobilization. Sorbatex™ pads were specifically engineered to be antidecubitus, protecting skin integrity during extended wear. Adjustment options such as Angulation Buttons, a removable Sternal Pad and an optional Assist Strap allow for the greatest amount of flexibility and comfort in a collar without sacrificing immobilization. My father has a fractured C1 and C2 vertebrae and was prescribed the Ossur Miami J Cervical Collar. After attempting to obtain a 2nd collar, even with a physician's prescription, in order to exchange a dry collar for the wet one after a shower, we found Medicare only allows one collar per year! A pharmacy and a Medical equipment supplier would be willing to sell the collar for $185.00 if we didn't attempt to make a claim through Medicare (which would have cost over $200.00), which they advised we'd lose and have to appeal. Thankfully we were able to order an exact duplicate from AllegroMedical for less than $55.00! Showering for Dad is much more tolerable when he can step out of the shower and simply exchange collars as opposed to switching out the pads and drying the collar! Thanks again! It collapsed in 10 seconds after I put it on. the brace in the front started to bend away from my chest and the front vertical supports were collapsing. I'm just an average guy 5'10 & 180#.

I use this for my neck (have C3-C7 problems). It is comfortable at first but the back plate can impinge on the shoulder blades thus making the shoulders tire quicker. The paddings are comfortable but can be thicker for the chin area. The velcro that holds the pads could be better constructed for they wear out quickly. Overall a solid neck brace. A bit pricey but still not bad for the price here at Allegro (as compared to some other websites or local Hangers that charges up to [$] for this collar)
