I am recuperating from two bulging discs in my lumbar region and have found this backrest makes me forget my pain for most uses. Best results are when it is used against a firm seat: chair, car seat, movie seat. Understandably, less support on softer backing: sofa, comfy chair. My wife will probably get one of these for her tailbone issues.
