Swedish Ankle Foot Orthosis
- Low profile, high patient acceptance
- Effective on either male or female patients suffering from a variety of foot problems
- The Swedish AFO can be quickly and efficiently trimmed to size with a pair of ordinary scissors eliminating the need for a heat gun, although one may be used.
- The low arch and open heel give it a streamlined profile that fits easily into any shoe… even sneakers.
- Injection molded polyproplene to allow for different thickness throughout the orthosis-thicker on the vertical aspect for rigidity, thinner footplate for trim ability.
- Padding is provided on the calf section for extra comfort and a Velcro calf strap secures the Swedish AFO around the calf.

This product is amazingly helpful with my foot drop. Light weight, comfortable, gives great lateral ankle support. MUCH better than my custom made AFO that cost over 10 times as much. I no longer need my cane to feel stable when walking.

I have moderate foot drop caused by nerve damage from years of back problems. My doctor recommended trying an AFO. I decided to try this before committing to an expensive model. Walking had gotten cumbersome because I had to remember to pick my foot up to keep from catching my toe on the ground and stumbling.
I was surprised at how much this inexpensive AFO helped walking. It's very light and fits easily into any type shoe. The only problem I encountered was with the velcro strap that attaches at the calf. The back of the AFO that fits the calf has padding and is no problem. But the strap that contacts the shin has no padding. After wearing the AFO for about an hour my shin was really hurting. When I checked it the skin had been rubbed raw (even with my sock pulled up) because the strap moves up and down slightly while walking. I tried gauze pads and band aids but it was still uncomfortable. So I cut the velcro strap off and replaced it with a wide elastic (like and ACE) bandage (actually it's a wrist bandage that uses a velcro closure). It worked great. I can now wear the AFO all day with no pain. I pull the shoe insole out and replace it after I have the AFO in my shoe. I hadly notice I have it on. Works great on the golf course also.

It comes in one size; we cut it down to the size we needed. I used my exacto knife. later, the ortho people at the hospital used something to make the edges smoother for us.

I wanted to buy this swedish ankle foot orthosis but the only thing is i have drop foot so i need to have some form of straps in order to keep My feet stable.

I have drop foot on both of my feet do muscular dysthrophy.
The swedish brace works very well for my condition,I walk alot and don't trip .
They are lite weight and give enough suport

This brace is designed for foot drop to be used with shoes, regardless of the cause of the footdrop Together, the brace with shoe supports and lifts the foot during the swing phase to prevent the dropping of the foot. No more tripping over the toes.
