Don't know what I'd do without it. Verified Purchaser

This powder is great. I use it for excoriated areas around ostomy site. After you've dabbed away as much moisture are you can, apply this stuff, and it will absorb the rest, and form a protective barrier. Important: Remove any loose powder, which has not bonded with moist areas, as it can prevent appliances from adhering. I recommend using one of those air dusters to blow away any excess (be careful to hold the can level so as not to release any propellant from the can). This product is a very good buy. One bottle lasts a long time. I don't know what I'd do with out this stuff. It's enormously helpful.

I used Stomahesive Powder around my stoma sites after two surgeries over 25 years ago. After a 3rd operation (a pull-through pouch procedure) I've used it when needed as a skin barrier to heal and protect the skin broken down by gastric enzymes.

I use this product on my brother who has a peg feeding tube in his stomach. The siut leaks sometimes and when it does we clean the area and apply a light coat of this powder. It keeps the area from getting irritated and he is more comfortable. It is a great high quality solution. Thank you so much. The stomahesive paste works very well too!

Answer:
I apply a small amount of 3M Cavilon Barrier Cream to the area around the stoma making sure to rub it in well.I follow this with the Stomahesive Protective Powder and make sure no excess powder remains on skin. Then apply 3M Cavilon Barrier Film. This assures skin around stoma stays healthy and appliance stays firmly adhered to skin. Using stomahesive alone causes appliances to not adhere to skin.
