Just Right

Pros:
Easy to use . Comfortable. Functional. Sturdy. Easy to clean.
Cons:
None.
Best Uses:
Patient transfer.
Describe Yourself:
Caregiver.

I am a short (in stature) caregiver for a tall patient and, as such, am unable to help him stand up enough to walk or move from chair to chair or bed to chair (or vice versa). The Alliance Patient Lift-Stand Assist Lift is exactly what's needed and requires the sling to be used. The sling itself is very easy to use and appears to be quite comfortable in that my patient voices no complaints or exhibits evidence of discomfort during its use. Just FYI - you cannot use the Lift without the sling and each must be ordered separately. I also ordered the Buttock Support Strap, but have not yet needed it.

Question:
Does the Alliance Stand-Assist Sling really help to lift a person off the floor, easily? My husband has a hard time lifting me and I'm looking for an easier way to do it. My MS has made it so I cannot stand on my own and when I miss while transferring there is heck to pay! Please advise.

Answer:
In my family I am the one with MS and I am a large person, 6'3" 275 lbs. My wife has used the sling and a sit to stand lift to get me off the floor and back into my chair. It is not easy but it is better than calling the fire department.

Question:
My mom has fallen several times and it has been difficult to get her up (mostly she slides off her lift chair). Getting her up is difficult and I don't want to hurt myself lifting her. Are there any devices that assist in this area when the person is not injured?
