Product Overview

Mabis DMI Clearance - Heelbo Heel & Elbow Protectors

Heelbo Heel & Elbow Protectors

Heelbo Heel and Elbow Protectors are made with a six-inch diameter, cup-shaped, medium density, 3/8"-thick polyurethane pad with a tricot lining on the skin side. The Heelbo Heel and Elbow Protector pad is held in place by a circumferential, stretchable, soft acrylic terry loop material inside with a flat knit on the outside. The foam pad inside of the Heelbo is bar-tacked to the material at two points to prevent slippage, yet allows the person to move the joint without a shearing effect on the skin. Heelbo Heel and Elbow Protectors are color coded.

For Sizing: Measure limb circumference.

Regular: Circumference of 8.5" to max length of 17"

Question:
Where do you measure? I measured circumference at elbow and got 11.5, but I am not a big person (175 pounds/5 foot 9 male), so I have a hard time believing I would be extra large. Did I do it correctly?

Answer:
The measurement is best if done about 2 inches from the bend of the elbow, We found that the elbow protectors ran small and the larger size fit better without cutting off circulation. My husband had a bleeding disorder and these elbow protectors were awesome in protecting his arms while walking around and avoiding injury if he bumped into anything.

Answer:
Plain because they allow the skin to breathe. In the elderly, wearing things like gel or neoprene can cause skin breakdown.

Answer:
The elbows protectors are wonderful to prevent breakdown or injury to the skin. Used them many years as a nurse for bed ridden patients. Then purchased them for my husband to protect his arms from injuries due to bumping into things. A friend purchased them as works at a desk that required resting on elbows and prevented injury to his arms while working.
