The Thermotex Infrared Therapy System is designed to be used on a treatment bed. The Professional unit will cover a patient's entire back and is ideal for chiropractic or therapy practitioners. Of the six elements in this unit, two are positioned to treat the neck and shoulders; a larger element covers the spine and three smaller inserts curve comfortably around the hips. This 38" x 18" model covers the entire spine area and utilizes 6 infrared inserts. (2-3"x13"), (1-11"x13"), (3-3"x8"). Six elements, 120 volts 107 watts.

The Thermotex Professional Heating Systems produce infrared heating to provide deep penetrating warmth for temporary relief of acute and chronic pain.

All Thermotex systems come with covers featuring adjustable Velcro fasteners and are machine washable. Face covers are 100% nylon and back covers consist of a 50/50 nylon-cotton blend. All systems come with hi-low power settings. On the low setting, after full heat up, the micron range holds steady at 9.1376 based on surface temperatures of 111°F. On the high setting, the micron range is 9.1089 to 8.7778 based on the range of surface temperatures of 113°F to 135°F. The infrared elements themselves are not flexible and should never be bent.

What does Infrared do?

Through the absorption of infrared thermal energy, tissues are safely and gently heated increasing blood flow within the treated area. Your body’s natural response to this increased temperature is to try to maintain a condition of homeostasis—a balanced environment or state of equilibrium throughout the body. To do this, your body responds with a rapid increase in blood flow to the area. Thermotex Heating Pads are a natural approach to effective pain relief.

Thermotex™ infrared operates at temperatures of between 40°C - 45°C, versus heating pads that are often in excess of 55°C. Our products will not burn or dehydrate the skin.

Thermography is used to measure the radiation of heat. In the following pictures you will see that the initial state of the injured area in each case is showing colder than the surrounding tissue. This is accounted for by the lack of blood flow in that injured area. As the injury is treated and the pain relieved by increasing blood flow, the temperature of the injured area returns to normal.
