I installed one at our cottage, and it's nice enough that I'm buying another one for my office. It simply turns an ordinary toilet into one that's "knee friendly". I can't believe how much more comfortable this has made the bathroom. Certainly a lot sturdier than the toilet seat risers that others are promoting!

It was very straight forward to install. I had to make a couple of modifications because the toilet was installed on top of the tile floor. And there was an extra thick cement backer board under the tile. But all was well that ends well. My folks love it and the added height really makes a difference for them. I would certainly recommend this product for elderly and disabled persons.

Someone in your office is clearly a mind reader as I was on my way to buy another one of these from you this morning!

I have severe spinal stenosis and my wife has two knees that have both had recent surgeries and will soon require complete replacements. One would be absolutely amazed at just how much difference 4-5 inches can make, but once you experience it, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.

Even guests comment as to just how surprised they are as to how comfortable the positioning is compared to the "normal" units. I have one friend who is planning to order one for his new home and he's not even disabled.

Aside from that, I was impressed with the ease of installation and simply priming the unit with good primer and getting a good matching ENAMEL paint to color coordinate it, and everything looks wonderful - or you can use it right out of the box, although I find the "white" tinted just slightly too "cool bluish" for my taste. (I should remind folks *NOT* to use EPOXY PAINT as it may well MELT MOST PLASTICS AS IT CURES.)

Buyers might also consider adding some insulation, beadboard or fiberglass in the open areas here, which is very easy to do. The reason being that the extra height gives the commode a venturi type effect as the water drains, so there's a small bit of a deep "whooshing" sound produced. It won't distract most people in the slightest, but a little insulation will stop virtually everything. If anything, it will PURR...

All in all, you have a really SUPER PRODUCT on your hands! (And I'm off to buy another one RIGHT NOW!) MANY, MANY THANKS!!!

This was a big improvement in quality of life. Mom didn't like using a standard bedside commode placed over the toilet as it was a small seat and the Toilevator gave her back use of her elongated toilet with much improved accessibility. The Toilet safety frame moved the support legs out of the way and it is now much safer with her walker and she finds it easier to manage her Depends.
I painted it with Rust-oleum Gloss Protective Enamel spray paint to match tile and colored toilet with no problem. Cleaned with denatured alcohol first.
I had read other reviews stating problems with the included foam seals (which I never had much luck with before) so installed with the wax rings that have a rubber cone. Soil pipe needed the thicker wax ring.
Diagrams and text in the instructions do not match so follow the text. I called manufacturer's customer service and could only leave a message (cell & home number) and never heard back from them.
I had started to design and make my own riser and am so glad I discovered this product. So much easier.

Everything needed for installation is in the package. The only problem we had was with the hold-down bolts. The supplied nut wound not screw on to the supplied bolt over the required distance. We had to purchase another set locally. Other than that, everything was perfect. This vendor should purchase higher quality installation hardware.

I had this installed at my mother's house. She had been using, and hating, a commode which fit over her toilet. It was unsightly and difficult to clean. She LOVES the Toilevator. What a great find!

I live in an apartment complex, and showed this product to my landlady/owner, and she said that this product would be a good idea to try, because there's NO place in or around our area that sells these things. She had her maintenance man set it up in my apartment (one in each of my bathrooms), and he said that after he read the instructions, it was VERY easy to install. He and I talked with the landlady/owner, and she went and bought SEVERAL more (for her other handicapped apartments). NOONE else (out of the elderly and handicapped) on her properities have EVER seen or heard of them, because their used to using the toilet bars that you slide around the toilet, to help them be able to sit better on their commodes. They tried it, after the maintenance man set it up for them, and they ALL commented saying that they LOVE their toilevators too. They prefer this product instead of the commode bar seat that you slide over your toilet seat. Anyways, my landlady gets these for all her elderly and handicapped apartments. And I've had mine for YEARS. I transferred into a bigger apartment, and my old apartment went to a regular (non handicapped or elderly) household, and so the maintenance man just removed the toilevator and re-set up the product in both of my bathrooms in my new apartment (went from a 2 bedroom to 3 bedroom on same property). Furthermore, our maintenance man said that since he's getting up there in age, he's going to ask our landlady for one for each of his bathrooms too (and she did get him 2 of them also, and he LOVES it).

We bought this because my 90 year old grandmother said our toilet was too short. She was using a portable poty chair that we measured at 20". Our toilet was measured at 16 3/4". So adding the 3 inches of the toilevator SHOULD have made it just right for her. NO!!! Now it was to high. So to please her we exchanged our 16 3/4" toilet with a 15" from my dad's house. Now its just perfect. What a difference an inch makes!!!
Moral, be sure they REALLY think its to short to begin with. Personaly I love it!!!

I manage a residential facility for handicapped persons and needed to raise a toilet to make it more accessible. The toilevator was a simple solution that was easy to install and appears to be working well. I think the product is very sturdy and it should be able to fit almost any application because of the multiple holes available to insert the toilet bolts. For some people the color may not match their existing toilet and this might be an issue. But for us the difference in color is not significant and we were more concerned about its functionality. Frankly, I was surprised that the kit included a new water supply hose; I had expected to purchase a new one. But, I would throw away the two seals provided and utilize regular wax toilet seals. The seals included with the kit just didn't work well with my application and the wax ones are more forgiving.

This was fantastic for me after back surgery! My husband put it in before I came home from the hospital. It looks just fine with our white elongated toilet, so that the toilet looks perfectly normal, just taller.

It's a wonderful product that we plan to leave on the toilet as long as we live in this house. Should be great as we grow older too.

To achieve a non standard height for the toilet. With this unit and a right height toilet, you can have the seat at about 20" which works well for an elderly tall person. In my case, this was purshased for use by my father, a massive stroke victim in 2001.

With an elevated seat was unable to install a bidet seat or accessory. This item brought the toilet to just the right height. A comfort height toilet was still too low. This item solved a few problems.

It started with a 6'7" son. The toilets - even those that were "high" - were still a long way down. Once it was tried by his grandparents, who suffer from joint disease, they too requested several for their house. Since then other family members have also seen the ease on and off. It puts a toilet seat the height of a normal chair seat. I've done 5 now.

The foam gaskets that were provided are no good. Went to store & bought 2 wax gaskets to prevent leaks. Love the height it provides. Others say it breaks hope not! & hope tiolet stays on it & doesn't fall off!

We were really disappointed. We didn't try to put together first but painted it to match toilet.

My mother recently moved in with us due to health problems. Severe arthritis and two failed back surgeries limit her mobility. She needed an ADA heighth toilet to get up and down. Neither of us are what I consider a real "handyman". Although I wouldn't call the installation easy, it is very doable with two people.The product blends well with our white porcelain toilet and is very professional looking. We have a toilet seat bidet. This was the best way for us to raise the toilet and still use the bidet. We used a professional plumber that was able to use grout to level the floor.

This is a great product. Everything listed in the ad works. My son installed it in minutes and what a blessing it is to me. We were so excited to purchase this for my elderly mother-in-law. We had a professional plumber install it. Even the plumber was impressed with the product. My 75 year old mother-in-law was thrilled to have the height of a handicapped toilet.
Two weeks later, my mother-in-law was scheduled for a colonoscopy. The day before, the patient takes various "cleansing" liquids in order to "clean out" the colon. What a horror - as she was running back and forth to the bathroom for the product to begin leaking and then break! It was mortifying for her and a giant mess!
We ended up rushing out to buy a portable toilet so that she could at least finish the cleansing before her procedure. What a big disappointment.

This a a wonderful product and elevates the average toilet to a good chair height. The comfort height toilets that are out there are not really chair height. My only about complaint about this device is that it only comes in a stark while color. I took it to [...] to see if there is a toilet that would basically match and believe me it doesn't exist. So what I did is I got an off-white spray paint for plastic and painted it. Now it blends and the appearance is not so objectionable. My next move is to find a regular paint that is as close to the toilet color as possible and paint it so that it matches. So I wouldn't let the stark white color put you off. The benefit far outweighs the bright white color.

I bought this Toilevator because I have arthritis in my hips. It really makes a difference. It looks nice and is easy to clean. The hose that came with it did not fit and it needed extra securing to the floor to prevent movement, but in all it was easy to install.

Although the instructions for installation said there were up and down arrows, and a and b markings on some parts I,nor several other people who looked could not find them. Luckily I am a handy person who has had some plumbing experience. Other than no markings this is a great product, and am thinking of adding another in my bathroom as it is very comfortable.

Not only was it inexpensive to buy, but inexpensive to have installed. Visitors can't get over how convenient it isto sit on, and that pertains to both children and adults. No need to install hand rails or bars for those who are disabled, because it beats sitting on the usual midget height toilets, and easier to rise from. I've had mine for two years now, and paid much more than it is now priced at.
