Neckpro Cervical Traction Device Allegro Medical presents the Neckpro Cervical Traction Device which is a home cervical traction device. The Cervical Traction Device may be used for the relief of neck pain associated with cervical disc herniation, spondylosis, osteoarthritis, cervical radiculopathy, neck strain, pinched nerve in upper spine with associated pain radiating down upper extremities, tension and/or tightness (muscle spasm) in muscle of the upper back, shoulders and neck, fibromyalgia, whiplash, insomnia and tension headaches associated with tension in the aforementioned musculature. Conventional home overdoor neck traction systems utilize a bag of water and patient trial and error determining the appropriate amount of traction poundage. The Neckpro Cervical Traction Device eliminates this old process by coupling a computer designed precision-made compression spring with a unique ratcheting device that delivers a more precise amount of cervical traction tension. Each click of the ratchet audibly signals an increase in the tension being applied. This not only allows traction to be delivered in a progressive format similar to what they experience in a clinical setting, but the audible click allows the patient to monitor and keep track of the settings that provide a positive outcome. The specially designed head halter for the home traction device is easy to apply and comfortable even under high levels of cervical traction tension. The Neckpro Overdoor Cervical Traction Device includes Neckpro compression spring & racket assembly, head halter and overdoor bracket (fits doors measuring up to 1.5" (3.8 cm) in thickness. Commercial size overdoor bracket available for doors measuring up to 1.75" (4.4 cm) in thickness. Neckpro Cervical Traction Product Features Unique ratchet device delivers precise tension Up to 20 pounds of traction Overdoor cervical traction device Due to often short recovery times and hygienic concerns the Neckpro Cervical Traction Device is non-returnable.

I spent 90 days and numerous doctor/chiropractor visits trying to ease neck pain and "referred" pain into my arm, elbow and wrist. I asked my chiro about traction and he changed the subject -- so I bought this device.
I had pretty much immediate improvement from using for a few days --then went on a trip and left it behind. I kissed my wife first when I returned, but I was THINKING about my neck traction. I use it twice a day for 5-10 minutes each and I can truly say it has helped ease my pain more than anything else. The only criticism I have is that the velcro straps are too short for people with large heads. HIGHLY recommend.

[...]Good Product

Cons:
Harness Uncomfortable

Harness may be uncomfortable, since the device lifts mainly by the chin. Ratcheting device works great and is easy to use. Superior to weights or water bag, since you can easily add tension during treatment. Highly recommended if you are unable to spend $400 for a pneumatic device.

This product is a neck saver!! I have lived with neck pain for years and I finally found relief! Lightly stretching your neck every other day keeps neck pain at bay. Beware however...this thing feels so good it's addictive! There is one drawback...it will damage your door. For best results (and the least amount of damage) use only on a solid wood door.

It is an easy device to set up and use. I never knew about this item until my chiropractor told me about a device that does the same thing as an expensive traction machine for just about 40 bucks. But the thing was, he didn't tell me until about my 12th visit to him (costing me about 430 dollars!) because I guess he didn't want to lose me as a patient. Well guess what! If I knew about the Neckpro when I first woke up that one day with that pain in my arm and knowing it was a pinched nerve, I would never have to have gone to a chiropractor!

It needs something like a bar added to top so it doesnt put so much pressur on top on your head, also readjust the part that fits back of head so as not to put all the pressure on jaw. Then it would be perfect.

I love this device
By Amy the Fixed from Franklin, NC on 7/21/2008

Primary use:

I had terrible pain for 7 years and didn't know the cause- went to several chiropractors and doctors without relief. Finally found one chiropractor who pulled on my head and my pain was gone after that adjustment! I bought this device so I wouldn't have to keep paying $40 every other day to have my head pulled and I use it almost daily and it gives all of my thoracic and cervical vertebre an adjustment and I am pain free. I absolutely love this device and wouldn't want to have to live without it. I do, however, use it under the door rather than over the door and I can get a better adjustment at that angle... FYI

This is a great device and simple to operate. My hat size is 7 5/8 and the neck cradle it just barely big enough for my head, but it works. The manufacturer should really offer this with an extra large neck cradle.

As a person with a chronic stiff neck I was afraid of attaching my head to a bag of water and getting stuck that way, so I opted for this product. I have been using it for two weeks and have had no problems getting in and out of it and using it safely. It works quite well except that it aggravates my TMJ. Anything that puts stress on the jaw would do this so I don't blame the product- I'll take a stiff jaw over a stiff neck.

I just use the Neckpro to stretch & lengthen the neck (spine) so that there is more space between the vertebrae, allowing my neck to have a greater range of motion and less pain. It's a good design & easy to use. The only thing I'd change about it would be to add more padding along the chin and jaw areas.

After using the traction device 2 times/day, I have found that I have less stiffness in my neck and less neck pain upon arising in the morning. The pulling or traction actually feels good and I'm hoping it's really decreasing the compression on the cervical area and increasing circulation.

I use this product several times a week to relieve the pain I get from have 2 bulging cervical disks. I no longer have to take round the clock pain medication and have been able to manage my pain much better with this traction device than I ever could with medication. It's very easy to use. I just place it on top of my door, sit down, strap it on, and watch TV for 10 minutes. When I get up the pain is gone and I can go on with my life.

Head harness may not fit!
By RedVerified Purchaser from Burnsville, MN on 5/25/2008
Primary use:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I have not been able to use it and need to return it. The head harness is too small to fit my head. Specifically, the straps are too short in order to attach the velcro connections. It seem very poorly designed to have such short velco straps, when extra inch in length would add little in cost, but a lot in accomodating more people. [...]
