To qualify you need to be seen by a respiratory specialist. They will test you, and do a lot of tests to figure out what type of problem you have. Then they will verify that you need oxygen. They have the forms needed to send to Medicare. Once you have been diagnosed and orders given to you then you can order your equipment. Usually they start you on rental equipment. That is the best way to go since chances are over time you will need to upgrade your equipment. I purchased an oxygen concentrator 2 years and now require a higher capacity unit if I want to travel or go anywhere Moe then 5 hours. I hope that helps you. Be aware most concentrators cost $2500 to $3500. Good luck.
