Aloe Vesta Protective Ointment is an ideal barrier/ointment for routine use in incontinence care. It performs two key functions: moisturizing and protection of the skin. The petrolatum-based ointment is easy to apply. It provides an effective barrier that seals out moisture, contains protein-rich emollients to moisturize and is non-sensitizing and fragrance free.
Aloe Vesta Features: Moisture-rich products that cleanse, nourish, and protect. Formulated with natural ingredients, such as aloe vera, and protein-rich emollients that moisturize, condition, and restore skin to its natural moisture balance.

First received this for use while in hospital w/UC - perineal area so raw it bled when cleansing. Used Aloe Vesta body wash and then applied the protective ointment. In 3 days it was like nothing had ever happened. This was after 3 other hospital grade treatments had been tried and failed miserably.

I am a caregiver for my sister who has Alzheimer's. I use this ointment every night at bedtime, as she is incontinent, and also in the morning if I see any sign of irritation. It's not greasy and keeps her skin in good shape. The only problem I have with the product, it's hard to squeeze out of the tube.

Label on Aloe Vesta tube lists petrolatum as only ingredient, suggesting that this is nothing but a tube of Vaseline. What's the big deal? Is there more to it?
